Where do They Live?

The Western Hognsoe Snake can be found in the central United States and southern Canada.They are in sandy prairies, scrublands and floodplains. They can be fount at elevations of up to 8,000 feet in teh Central United States, northern Mexico, and southern Canada.

What do They Eat?

Western Hognose snakes eat small lizards, reptile eggs, bids, and small rodents. However their main source of food is toads they find burrowed in the sand.

How do you Identify them?

The Western Hognose snake comes in a wide range of colors, patterns, and varieties. They are known for their trademark pointy nose that's used to borrow and hide in sand and loose gravel.

What is There Defence Mechanism?

While they are mildly venomous the venom is not considered dangerous to humans. While they have many defense mechanism their most unique is their ability to play dead. Turning on its back, open their mouth, and stick out their tongue. They can even bleed from the mouth and release a foul smell to assist in the act.
